Virginia Fifield is best known for her contemporary large scale and super-realistic charcoal drawings of nature. Fifield moved to South Florida 25 Years ago with her family. Deeply moved by Florida’s magnificent and fragile beauty, Fifield returned to her first passion of fine art and began her signature series of super realistic, large scale, black and white drawings of nature. With these drawings she seeks to inspire a deeper connection and awareness of value of the natural world.
"Fifield's works are proof that humble charcoal can be as satisfying and expressive as more exotic media. It is simultaneously ambitious and restrained. Each mark of the charcoal seems taut with sensitivity to both medium and the subject. It's velvety blacks and whites make color seem irrelevant”
